kicki on tour - paris #4

EN: This bunch of photos will be the last Paris-post. Since everyone is asking where I got my new jeans jacket from (as seen in my last post from Disneyland), I decided to write about some must-visit-places, of course including the place where I bought the jacket.
All in all, that 5-days-trip to Paris was a wonderful way to spend the christmas-holidays, and it won't be the last time I visit this city.

1) The first place I highly recommend is for everyone who wants to see the skyline of Paris, but don't want to pay 20 euro each time and hate queues as much as me. (And to get on the eiffel tower, you probably have to wait in a queue for more than 2 hours, depends on season and time). We went in the building next to Galeries Lafayette. On the highest floor, there is a small restaurant and with a deck outside, on which you have a beautiful view over Paris. Also this is a tipp my cousin gave us. As an "insider" he knows that this place was not overflowed with tourists.

2) The Avenue de Champs-Élysées is known as the main shopping-street of Paris. However, most of the stores are also represented in Germany (H&M, forever21, GAP, Yves Rocher etc.). There are also many high-end flagship stores, but with prices which are not affordable for a student like me, for example the biggest Louise-Vuitton-store of the world. Beautiful inside, but I hadn't 2500 euro in reserve for a single handbag.
Another place we visited for shopping was the Rue de Rivoli. If you have the courage to randomly turn in a small side street in this region, you will cross many vintage stores and smaller underground stores, which are exactly my thing.  I bought my jeans jacket in the vintage store KILOSHOP, which sell their clothes not in the number of items, but in kg.

3) Unfortunately, the Grande Roue de Paris stands on the Place de la Concorde only from mid December to mid January. But I think it was totally worth the 10 euro. I recommend you to get on it when it's dark or during sunset.

Sushi schmeckt gut in jedem Land.

4) When do you usually have dinner? I always have mine 6 pm. At that time, french bistros only offer drinks. I asked the waiter, he told me that French usually have dinner 8 pm, so the kitchen opens 7:30 pm. After we run around the city for the entire day, we were literally starving and didn't feel like we could wait until 7:30 pm.  We found out that most asian restaurant are opened at that time. Why not? Sushi tastes good in every country right?

5) For everyone who didn't know that: the Eiffeltower start to sparkle at the top of every hour when it's dark. Make sure to see that from the Place du Trocadéro. We didn't went on the Tower, because it was like -4°C that evening and we didn't feel like standing in a queue for such a long time when it's that cold.
